November is Indigenous Heritage Month
Posted on 11/11/2021
November
is nationally recognized Indigenous Heritage month. There are 574 federally
recognized tribes and 245 unrecognized tribes comprising the United States.
Foster School is currently residing on land which was first the land of the
Menominee and HoChunk Nations, and we honor the sovereignty and stewardship of
First Nations, recognizing their traditional practices, and the uniqueness of
their individual cultures and histories, taking this time to educate, and
revitalize traditional practices of Indigenous people. Thank you to the
Paul Schmidt family for sharing their heritage with Foster's students and
staff!
